why, why , why can't people act right?

Now I have to go to work and explain to a co-worker that it is wrong to transfer the person who is covering for you 50+ emails at 5:02 pm on the day you leave. With no warning and no heads up about items that are en fuego. (and there was a lot of them en fuego)

I hate confrontation....I need Starbucks.

The Golden Telephone

A man decided to write a book about churches around the country. He started by flying to Los Angeles and started working east from there.

Going to a very large church, he began taking photographs and making notes. He spotted a golden telephone on the vestibule wall and was intrigued with a sign, which read "Calls: $10,000 a minute."

Seeking out the pastor he asked about the phone and the sign. The pastor answered that this golden phone is, in fact, a direct line to heaven and if he pays the price he can talk directly to God.

The man thanked the pastor and continued on his way.

As he continued to visit churches in Salt Lake City, Austin, Baton Rouge, Columbus, Tuscaloosa , and around the United States, he found more phones, with the same sign, and the same answer from each pastor.

Finally, he arrived in Gainesville, Florida. Upon entering a Church in Gainesville, he saw the usual golden
telephone.

But THIS time, the sign read "Calls: $0.35 cents."

Fascinated, he asked to talk to the pastor, "Father Jones, I have been in cities all across the country and in each church I have found this golden telephone and have been told it is a direct line to Heaven and that I could talk to God, but in the other churches the cost was $10,000 a minute. Your sign reads only $0.35 cents a call. Why?"

The priest, smiling benignly, replied : "Son, you're in Gainesville, Florida now, home of the Florida Gators - 3 times BCS Football Champions, 2 times Basketball Champions; it's the city with the prettiest women, the
best parties, and the best state university -- it's got the best hospital, great food, great neighborhoods and
some of the friendliest people in the world!

You're in God's Country.... it's a local call."

Available Kittens

I compute with fruit and at the top of my browser is a shortcut bar. One of those links it to Alirose Cats in the St Petersburg area; the link is titled "Available Kittens".

Alirose breeds Japanese Bobtail cats. I have had two Japanese Bobtails cats, both came into my life in similar ways. One ran into my house and onto my couch and the other ran into someone's wheel well at work. One was my best friend, and one is the devil.

As a single woman I limit myself to one cat at a time, lest I become the crazy cat lady, but everyday I click the link just to see if there is a kitty that looks like my dear departed Munch. Since you can't kill pure evil I guess I am stuck with the devil cat for the rest of my natural born life.

Here are the ones currently available:

Maybe I could have two cats and still not be the crazy cat lady....

Things I learned at a party

I went to a party last night. It wasn't a Garden Party, but rather a party with co-workers. It was an interesting mix and here are a few things I learned...

1. The closer I get to 40 the more I am attracted to age inappropriate men. Apparently I like them in their late 20's and I am not sure I can pull the whole cougar thing off.

2. Ron Jeremy is very funny. I learned this from the guy that was sitting next to me while playing a game who, as it turns out, was an "actor" in adult films for three years. (hmmmm forgot to ask how old he was)

3. My phone is A PIECE OF CRAP! It seems all my electronic devices have failed me lately but my phone..et tu Moto? et tu?

That's about it, the exciting Saturday night of a single gal in Title town.

Just giving this blogging thing a try.

This is a pretty exciting time for me, I just put an offer on a condo so that will be my main focus for the next month or so.

Wish me luck!
